The Xavier Institute was larger than Dolemeck had expected. He figured it would be the size of the private school he attended back at home. But this? This was twice it's size! He could not help but feel somewhat intimidated about attending a school that was of this size, or one that was different from the schools back in England.
The cab driver was helping to get his suitcases out of the trunk, while he stood in awe. He would have helped the cab driver, only he was not allowed to lift anything physically. The back injury he suffered years ago put many restrictions on his life, but he never let them prevent him from experiencing what life had to offer.
"Even if there are things you physically cannot do, cherish the things that you can do"
That was what his brother Dayton would tell him, and that is what he reminded himself constantly. Putting on a bright smile, he thanked the cab driver and paid him his fare, before being left to stand at the front of the school. It was a new day, and he was going to cherish all it had to offer him.

"I think we were actually expecting you in another hour. Take it the ride here was alright?" Her accent thickened to the Scottish side, though there was still a hint of something Asian there.

"Where would you like to start?"

There was a small chuckle before he started to walk over to his luggage. He walked without bending his knees, due to his leg braces being so restrictive in movement. There was a single steamer trunk, and a backpack.
"Is there someone we can send to take this inside. I am not allowed to lift them myself." He continued to smile, though it looked as though he was a bit embarrassed. "I do not mean to be a bother about it."

The injuries that were healing had her pull back her hand after a moment. "I'm sorry... I should have waited. I'm a healer... I might be able to jump start the process..."

Gently, he gave Reiko's hand a pat before walking with her along the mansion grounds.
"My brother sent me here, saying this was an amazing school for people like myself. I honestly did not wish to come here, but he insisted, saying I would have the best education possible. How could I resist that?"

She grabbed the two bags without trouble.
"It's better than some other places you could be. Trust me on that." She giggled. "And the lessons you get here really are on of a kind. Catered to your abilities."

There was a chuckle that escaped him.
"So... I am curious if anyone stateside has ever heard of "The Dead Nights". They are a pretty big band where I come from." He was indeed curious if his Father's band had any fans stateside. If so, it might mean they could tour here... and perhaps he could see them.

She shook her head. "I am the wrong one to ask about music. I... Don't do the 'normal' well. I'm learning, but I'm a far way to go."

When she told him about how she did not do "normal" music, he cringed a little.
"Oh, I see. Well, to each their own they say, aye?" He had secretly hoped someone had heard of his Father's band. "Just a conversation start was all. I am not too good with talking to people other than me brothers."

"I would not mind hearing them if you wish to share." She smiled a little. "I was an only child. But I was raised badly." Well that was easier than saying she was raised a killer right?

He always found a silver lining. Perhaps a way to comfort himself from the knowledge he had absentee parents, or it was how he was raised by his brother. Perhaps shielded or coddled from the truth?
"Aye, I would love to share with you one of their CD's! They are really good, and I do not just say that because it is my Da's band!"

The way he spoke about his family made her wish she remembered hers. "My father was a doctor, Mum was head of security for the facility he ran. Other than my name... I don't remember them. I was far too young."
no subject
"I rarely saw Mum and Da. I do not remember them being about when I was a lad. I just remember my brothers, Dayton and Charles, being the ones to take care of me. Well... more so Dayton than Charles." He shrugged his shoulders. "Last time I saw them was when I woke up from a coma. Never seen them so worried or scared before. They stayed around for a wee bit, before going back on tour."
